The ATV, or all terrain vehicle, once considered pure recreation and excitement has emerged as much more than that. Years of innovations in the ATV industry have produced superior machines with extraordinary reliability and performance. Aside from enjoying the wooded trails and sand dunes, the ATV has found itself in numerous practical roles including search and rescue, law enforcement, agriculture and farming, snow removal, hunting and patrol of gamelands, and just about any job that requires access to areas previously unreachable by four wheel drive trucks. Engines can range in size with maximum displacement as high as 800cc providing plenty of power for towing, dragging, and other tasks. A reverse gear provides much more versatility than the mono-directional ATVs of earlier years. Shaft drives have replaced chain and sprocket drives on the original sport models. PTO has become an option providing power for those who need to drive external accessories and machinery. With a plethora of options available, the 4×4 utility ATV can be considered a viable off-road vehicle and useful tool rolled into one.

All Terrain Vehicles, ATVs are some of the most dangerous vehicles ever marketed to American consumers. They are notorious for frequent rollovers, even at very low speeds and on very slight grades.
Hundreds of ATV drivers and passengers have been injured or killed when their vehicle rolled over. The most frequent injuries, including fractures and crushed limbs, have been to riders’ legs, ankles and feet. The injuries have frequently been so severe that amputation has been required. Drivers and passengers have been killed when their ATV rolled over on them and crushed them. Every time, before the hit the ATV trails, which part of your ATV should you check and change first? Make a wild guess. If you answered ATV tires, then you’re right on the dot. All’s not last if you said ATV attire, of course, you’re quite close, anyway.
Jokes aside, not only should you check your ATV tires regularly to see if they are in need to repair or replacement, it makes sense for you to change the ATV tires according to the ATV terrain that you’re going to be riding. Are you going to ride your ATV on sand, mud or just around the backyard? Not all ATV tires are the same, believe you me! If you don’t change the tires to suit the terrain, not only will you risk not having fun, you’ll also risk getting stuck….a lot. Many ATV tire brands make different types of ATV tires suitable for different terrains. The big names are, of course, Goodyear, Firestone and Bridgestone but there are many others you can safely count on. Some ATV tires are cheaper than others without compromising the quality of the tires while some take your money and make you pay for the company’s branding exercise and advertisements. Okay, your son’s birthday is coming up real soon and he has been hinting that he would like to have a brand new Kid ATV for his present. Furthermore, he has been telling you how he wants to be part of your ATV riding team each time you leave your house for some excitement and thrills of ATV riding with your “ATV gang”. And if that isn’t enough, he has also been telling you how inexpensive off brand Kid ATVs are these days, so much so that he can even give some of the off brand ATV names!
