This competition is relatively new. It has been held since 2006 and derives from local mud bog events. Standardization of rules of these events created the need to establish a governing body that racers could refer to and, therefore, Championship Mud Racing was established. The competition is held yearly and comprises of six competitions held from June to November. This sport event includes Mud Bog and Mudda-Cross as well as many other competitions. Rules allow ATVs of any size to enter this competition. The main aim of CMR promoters is to make Mud Racing more competitive and recognizable both nation- and worldwide.
